Pregnancy can be a scary, exciting, wonderful, and sometimes difficult experience. I’ve done been through it twice and I can tell you that not every pregnancy, even within the same woman, is the same.
And during these exciting 7 to 10 months, your body obviously goes through many changes and some months, weeks, and even days, can be dramatically different experiences than other days, weeks, and months.
One thing we all know though is the ideal for the expecting experience is to keep oneself as healthy as possible.
Take Care of Yourself!!
Some women visit doctors regularly, while others spend most of their medical time visiting with their mid-wives and assigned nurses.
You always want to follow the advice of the medical professional caring for you during this time.
Personally, I had regular doctor and nurse visits, but I also used a doula during my first pregnancy, which was a wonderful experience, and I used a midwife during my second.
One thing that was great for me about the doula was that massage therapy was actually a part of the experience, even during labor, and for me it helped me to avoid having to take the pain medicine injections.
The Joy of a Regular Massage While Pregnant
It’s not easy to luck out and find a good doula and many only have the option of the fully traditional route of care. However, getting a massage regularly can still be a part of your personal pre-natal care plan if you can find a trustworthy massage therapist to provide you with the extra help in focus and relaxation that massage therapy can provide.
As an older woman, my experiences were decades ago. My children are both grown and graduated from college now. What today exists in day spas as amazing therapies easy to enjoy is not something I was aware of back in the days when I was expecting.
Now you can find excellent, clean, relaxing day spas that provide full spa packages for pregnant women. Imagine relaxing with a full hour of massage therapy to soothe your body, then enjoying a heavenly facial therapy, and even then a foot massage, all while enjoying the benefits of the aromatherapy that may be provided depending on your wishes. How about a nice hot scalp massage as well?
It’s easier and more affordable than ever before to find a great day spa to enjoy a pre-natal spa package. Why not plan it out and pre-arrange a series of appointments you can look forward to each month?
